Hi, I'm new to the forum and have had my dachsie, Duke, for 5 wonderful months.

Hi!! My name is Ana I had a couple questions for u! My dog became deaf and now she hates going on car rides!!!! I put her in the back with her brother and she cries and cries and she tries to grip on the carpet like she's holding on! She never did this before! When I see this I hold her with me and she hides her head under my arm. So I'm wondering if her hearing loss has something to do with this, do dogs get car sick?

any advice.... i was in the process of moving last year and my dogs were staying with my boyfriends mom which is where we lived for 2 years with our two dachshunds and her 3 big dogs and we called to check on them on 11/22 and his mom said she went missing 11/21 we asked why they didnt call when they figured out she was missing and they said it was because they didnt want to both us on my birthday found her 12/21 by the side of the field. any advice of how to be able to deal with it? i love her n miss her but i hate feeling so sad n lonely and i losing her is effecting the way i treat my other baby

Oh so fun for you!! It will be so much more fun with the dogs, you will be surprised of how good their noses are. The hardest thing is to trust the dog, they KNOW what they are doing...

We went to a bloodtracking training yesterday! It was just the basics, without dogs. Seems like fun and exciting!! We're going to start training soon with Manu, I already have blood in the fridge.

Hi Doxie lover, read your review on Beaver Valley. We are currently looking at a puppy by Marble (mom) Hansel (dad).
She is on her site, dapple and piebold mix. She is so cute, now i'm not sure about the breeder. surpose to go visit this sunday. We know a family that has 2 doxies by her Rosey. which seems to have lots of puppies. Our friends dogs are fine. What to do?????

Frankie is sooooo cute!!! Such a character. Manu used to have a cat-friend too when he was a pup, but the cat was old and we had to put him down last summer. Good memories, though!

Thank you! Manu was about a year old when his hair was in this length. But his coat has changed a lot this winter.. Unfortunately it's a little bit curly now...... Maybe he'll grow a better summer-coat.

Such a pretty dog! I keep wondering if my Frankie's hair will get that long. How old was yours when it got that long?

Mickey's coat still might grow long since he's so young. But as you said, no matter what their coats look like, we love them so much!

Thank you! His coat is more thick than long like your puppy. I was hoping that Mickey's coat would grow long but I don't think it will. But I'm totally in love with him!

I'm so glad you took her in. It bothers me so, when people treat animals like they are expendable. I've wanted another dachshund for a long time ( a few years now) , but I have not gotten one because I have to make sure that it's the right choice for our Reggy and for my fiance and me. He feels it will upset Reg if we get another dog. I think it would do him good and give him a friend but it has to be a agreed decision lol. Soo so far I'm the only one that agrees LOL. Anyway I just posted another jacket, a boy jacket lol I guess, it's flames , more manly looking with motorcycle buttons and stuff. Happy weekend to you and your family Ruth

It's funny.Spekkle is soo tiny and won't even go out the door in the colder weather, unless carried in her duffel bag with blankets or sunggled with me!! She just refuses. I got her from a family that claimed they were moving so she was going to end up at the shelter, and I found out that they would more than likely put her down, because she is deaf and was only 3 months old at the time.. So she came to us. I was just looking at your site, ateast what my phone will let me see.And you sacks are pretty neat, but Spekkle doesn't like to be covered.or at least hasn't yet.She had also never chewed on anything, and yesterday she destroyed a controller for the Wii while I was getting kids in bed!!! Little pain in the butt is what she is. I will look more when I get on the computer, and maybe will he able to put some pennies up for one for her, and I will definately check out the coats. It would be nice to see some actually fit her. She is just small and long... Very strange.Maybe 5 lbs wet.

Alf says thank you No we dont have to go to dog shows for him to be a bloodtracking champion but the other way around. He must have a clear first test (anlagsprov) to be abel to go to the hunting class on dog shows, only in hunting class they get the CERT for champion titel...

He is a merle, although you can't see the grey spots anymore. He only has grey stripes in his ears, grey chest hair and some spots on his face.

I think Alf is very handsome too. Have you been to dogshows with him? Do you have to go to a dogshow in Sweden if you want the dog to be a bloodtracking champion? In Finland you have to.
