Why doxie? in USA

In sweden dachshund is "tax" like paying your taxes (?!) I have no idea why they are called that!?

I like dachshund better. I think it decribes the breed better... like badgerdog or tekel. I like those to.

I surely hope we dont see two diferent types of doxies in the future. It will ruin the breed....
 
Let's see how good you folks are! What breed is referred to as IG?
 
No idea - obvious answer would be a dachsie but I expect that is wrong!
 
IG? No idea... What about GSD, is that german shepherd? :D
 
Italian Greyhound. They are smaller than a Whippet about 15 lbs
 
In Norway we usually just call them dachs. Hund means dog in Norwegian, and since dachshunds obviously are dogs we don't feel the need to say more than dachs (but we can if we want).

And we usually specify which dachshund we have since there are nine different types.
