Supplements for Back?

I've heard some really conflicting info on supplements for Doxie backs, which ones work or are worth it, ect. Which ones do you think are worth it? Even if it's not 100% certain that it will help, which would you recommend?

We've been giving Manu Cartivet +msm for 2 years now. I'm not sure if it works, but we haven't had any problems with back or joints. Cartivet was recommended to us by a vet who breeds greyhounds. She said that she's had really good results with this.
