We just got our miniature dachshund last week and she is 10 weeks old. She was sold to us as short haired but we are skeptical because of her white hairs. what do you guys think?

Weird coat.Looks like smooth with some longer hairs.Do you know her parents?
By the way,you need to clip her nails.

She looks smooth to me, might have a thicker coat than most though.

I have two broken coated longs (1 long parent, 1 smooth), both has very visible feathering on their ears as that age.

Sadie, the mini, has a very short but fluffy coat. The hair is fine but there is a lot of it.

Fynn, the standard, has very coarse, short, slick hair along his body. He has beautiful feathering on his ears and tail as well as some on his legs. I much prefer his coat to Sadie's.

So far looking like a smooth.
My 3 smooths have very different coat textures from each other. Beau is velvety, Engli is coarser, enough that I get hair slivers in my feet. Georgia is between the two. The belly can have longer whispy hairs. Beau with the velvet coat does not have the whispy belly hair.

If you were thinking she might be a long hair, the ears would start to look wavey.

Love those pie puppies!!
