I have a 9 month old purebred male dachshund who has been potty trained outside and inside for a couple of months, no accidents. I recently got a little 7 week old female Doxipoo as a companion (not breeding them). Since she is not potty trained yet he now thinks it's okay to urinate where she does on the carpet, I know this is the dominant male in him, but does anyone have any idea how to stop this?
He (and she) have access to the outside all day long. He is good about going outside and also on pee pads which I use because when the cold weather gets here I know from experience that doxies don't want to go out in cold, wet weather. This will help me a lot as he will go on the pad and not the carpet. At least that is how it would have been but since she is here that has changed.
Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.
