Off-leash Question

Some of the gorgeous pictures on this forum show your dogs off-leash. Since Bree and I are still working on basic commands, this is not something I would try at this time. But I see even on a walk, he gets distracted by the birds, squirrels and outside sounds. What has to happen before trying any off-leash activities?

In my experience, I've had to build a fence.

Or leave the car door open, the dogs will always run to the car!

Doxies are notorious for having issues off leash. You just need to work on a very solid come command. My Doxie, fortunately for me, came well behaved. Lol
