Hello from the evergreen state!

Iam the happy owner of a cute 11 week old dachshund. My fiance came home with him at 8 weeks as an early valentines present.

Even though this is my first puppy and its not all cotton candy clouds, I couldnt be happier!

He is brown with black dappling and one half brown half blue eye. He is so energetic and full of kisses. His parents were 12 and 14 pounds so I am not certain what this classifies him as.

I joined here in order to learn more about the breed and soak up asmuch knowledge asI can. I want to raise him the best that I can!

Sounds like you have a mini ( or a midi) you never know! I mean My girl Baby is a silver (black, tan, and silver) dapple who is 11lbs and my boy Marley (black and tan) is the length of a midi who is only 8 or 9 lbs.

Yeah its a Mini. Standards start at 16 pounds and get up to 30 pounds. Congradulations and there is lots of info around here.
