Arthritis at age five

Betsy was just diagnosed with arthritis in her hips. She was not acting right and I was worried that she had hurt her back but it ended up being her hips. The vet had me put her on glucosamine and chondriotin supplements as well as fish oil and anti inflammatory medications. Is there anything else I can do to make sure she is comfortable? I am surprised bag she has arthritis since she is so young. :-(
