yes,paw licking is definitely a sign of allergies, and watery eyes too.The reason Maisey cant use benadryl is she throws up,and its almost like slobber will hang from her mouth.we have a bird that we've had for 19 years,& Maisey cant be around him because she starts itching, aint that weird. Now Missy is a different story.shes allergic to everything outside and also pecans, turkey, eggs, beef, corn, peanuts, fleas, and pollen.Missy was almost bald, and had been on medication after medication.we have cats outside,Missy cant be anywhere around them because shes allergic to cat dander.her skin had became red, almost burnt looking.bleeding, and what looked liked cradle cap all over her body. She had to start seeing a dermatology specialist for pets 2 HOURS AWAY FROM WHERE WE LIVE.she had a skin infection and severe allergies. Now almost 2 years later she has a full thick coat.she still has to have stuff put under her eyes and a shampoo and conditioner from the dermatologist,2 different kind of medicated mousse and a allergy pill twice a day AND BOTH OF THEM ARE ON ALLERGY SERUM SHOTS.we give Maisey one every 3 weeks and Missy one every 2 weeks.also Missy and Maisey have to have advantage every 2 weeks instead of 4.we have to be really careful with them.I do believe my guy might have some allergy issues going on. When it started warming up he started doing a lot of paw nibbling and belly licking, sometimes watery eyes..I have read that is a sign of allergies. My mom told me to just give him benadryl but I haven't yet because I don't want him to be sleepy and it makes me sleepy! Lol

Missy HAD a plastic bowl, and the hair around her mouth was bare,so we switched to stainless steel, and no more problems with that.Mouse is allergic to stainless steel and vinegar. .. the odd dog that she is!

no,they're not related at all.Missy is a chihuahua and Maisey a dachshund.but they came from 2 different counties.I havent even mentioned our chihuahua Maggie that has seizures, thats a whole different post:Wow! That's a lot! Poor babies! Are they related? I wondered since they both have such extreme issues

lol, totally ok. we definitely have to be careful with what they're exposed to.I should have read more carefully..different breeds would pretty much seal them not being related lol.

we were not so lucky.Maisey HAD a heart murmur on the wrong side,so they wouldnt spay her at first w/o an ultrasound.didnt know if she could handle being put to sleep for it.So we got everyone praying for her and now she is murmur free.We do still have the allergy issue, and unfortunately she cant be on the ground.she takes an allergy pill twice a day.Holy moly! My heart goes out to all of you. I have been very blessed with rescuing Elliott. No allergies or major health issues. He's just a little sneaky is all.
Loving my Elliott,
