Who says dogs and cats can't get along!

LOL! Looks exactly like our cat and dog! :D

    lump around hip bone?!

Is it soft and squishy? Painful when you touch it? Look like an insect bite or sting? I've only dealt with small injuries from other animals (like insects or out cat when the dog doesn't get the hint lol) and cysts. Let us know what the vet says! That's definitely the best thing to do - get a...

    what to do

We train with whole grain Cherrios as a treat. Like Vizzla said, they don't do anything for "free". Be as patient as possible. They will know when you are getting frustrated. Stick with one trick/task at a time - sit, stay, touch, etc. And like Vizzla said.. even if they are close, give...

The Face and 7 mo. old pics

Thanks guys! He likes giving me the innocent face whenever he wants something he knows he isn't allowed to have... ;) The vet said his eyes are just runny - no allergies thankfully. :) They get worse when he runs like crazy. She said his eyes are not big enough for his eyelids yet so they...

The Face and 7 mo. old pics

Yosuke at 7 months old. Sorry for the terrible quality of pics. I used my cell phone (which isn't very good) to take these in my apartment at night. We were playing with his current favorite toy - a braided rope. :D Excuse my bragging... I just had to share!! Some how I managed to get...

Puppy won't use legs? or, no balance?

I agree with Nell. Take the puppy to a vet, or even a couple, and get their opinions. I've heard of dachshunds born with leg issues, but not sure if this is the same or not. I've never encountered this before in person. Like Nell said, it sounds like you are doing absolutely everything for...

    Doggy training bells???

We are introducing bells right now. We hung a bell on the door we take Yosuke out to go potty approximately nose height for him. (He is 7 months old by the way.) We are also teaching the "touch" command. I say "Yosuke, TOUCH!" when he touches the bells to go outside, he gets a Cherrio (our...

    Seasonal Allergies

Have you figured out what is causing his allergies yet? Switching food to raw/home cooked would probably help too. I know dachshunds with sensitive skin are on raw or home cooked diets only. As far as supplements, I am of no help there. I don't give my dogs any supplements.

    Puppy won't poop outside

Sounds like the play pen and pads are doing ok. Keep at it. With praising - praise a little right after she pees and then heavily after both. Especially if she stops and doesn't look interested in searching after she pees. If you praise too much she will get distracted like you said and...

    Tropiclean Water Additive/Teeth Cleaning

We are only considering it because our cat needs a way to clean her teeth too. We just wanted to make sure if we put it in their shared water dish it wasn't going to hurt him. :)

    Tropiclean Water Additive/Teeth Cleaning

Hey guys! I've read a little about the Tropiclean Water Additive, but wanted to know if anyone was tried it? For those unfamiliar, it is a solution you add to the water dish for your dogs and cats to help clean their teeth and freshen breath. It is marketed as the "easier" way of cleaning a...
