    Killer Doxies

Nola killed a cardinal min-flight last month. It was flying low, and she'd been waiting in the grass for it to come out of a bush. I was proud though, because as soon as I asked her to drop it she spit it right out and left it alone.:D

    Food you feed your Dachshund.

I used Blue Buffalo Puppy until she was 10 1/2 months old, then I switched around with a lot of high quality things before settling on home cooked.

Don't know about those options, but she'll swim in the ocean if I go out with her and it's warm out.

    Traveling with your Doxie?

Do y'all travel with your Doxies? Nola's been on every trip and vacation with me since I got her two years ago. She's a fantastic co-piolet:p, not to mention the perfect size to travel with. Since she earned her Canine Good Citizen, it's been even easier to find places to stay with her...

    Food you feed your Dachshund.

A home cooked, grain free diet because of her severe allergies. When we travel to the North East for two weeks next fall, she'll get The Honest Kitchen dehydrated food.

    Dachshund relations to other animals

Mine's just fine with my two cats (the kitties are now about 7 years old), but I had the cats when I brought her home and she's been raised to accept and respect them. She will still go after any cat that comes near our house though.

Welcome. :) I too am concerned that they're letting the puppy go that early. Maybe you should look into a different breeder?

Aw, he is beautiful! He took my breath away when I found his picture. B/t pies are my third favorite color after wildboar and chocolate and tan dapples. I'd love to get Nola a pied brother. Sigh, someday!

What are your top 3 favorite dog breeds?

Dachshunds Salukis and/or Greyhounds Mastiff I also like Blue Tick Coonhounds, Border Terriers, French Bulldogs, Bernese Mountain Dogs, GSDs, German Shorthaired Pointers and Aussies. I like all sizes, but small dogs are so much cheaper to feed, vet, ect and are much easier to travel...

    Dressing your weanie

I don't/can't dress Nola up much because it is so hot here (almost May and it's been a steady 85 since mid March), but she has a good wardrobe for photo shoots (don't judge; I have a blog :p) and winter months. She has T shirts, a few dresses, 1 sweater that fits perfectly (found it at Walmart...

    New Dachshund Mom

Your Frenchie is so darn cute! I want to rescue one some day. Of course they must share the bed! Nola insisted on it, and has slept in bed every night since she was 8 weeks old (she's 2 1/2 now).
