Hello from SW Missouri! (picture heavy)

Haha yes, the ears! Those silly little black streaks that hang down are just the best. His momma had them too (she also had a much longer coat, almost show-style, so apparently he didn't inherit that. Or it just hasn't shown up yet.) And don't worry, Nemo will calm down some. Those videos of...

Hello from SW Missouri! (picture heavy)

Well I don't know about his parents or looking them up, but at this point he looks a lot like my Watson did at that age. You can check out his facebook page (in my sig) for a bunch of pictures, it might give you a bit of an idea :)

Hello from SW Missouri! (picture heavy)

I didn't know much about long-haireds before getting Watson, either. He definitely went through that special stage, hahaha! Yeah, the tail and ears grow out first. And then Watson got fluff all over his legs! A lot of people think he's still a baby (he's a year and a half) because they think...

Hello from SW Missouri! (picture heavy)

Ahhh so cute! (That is to say, welcome!) I LOVE that silly little face Nemo is making in the first picture. It also takes me back because I remember when my long-haired boy was still all fluffy!!

Fourth of July, One new and one old

Welcome!!! I was worried about the same thing with my boy Watson, and also posted on here about a week ago. Here's the thread I posted and got some wonderful feedback to help with the anxiety. I hope it will help you too!!

    Fourth of July and Anxiety

Well, I got all concerned for nothing. It turns out my town is moving the fireworks show from the old stadium, right by our house, to the new one, across the highway. Yay for less stress, boo for no longer being able to see it from the porch!

Cat adopts baby squirrel and it learns to purr

Well I know it started when the lion was a cub, so I guess they just became friends and when he grew up he liked them too much :)

    Fourth of July and Anxiety

Well obviously I wouldn't drug him, I'm more curious about how scents and oils can help them feel calm, like lavender with people. I don't want to go away though, because I want to watch the fireworks. I won't take him outside with me, of course.

Cat adopts baby squirrel and it learns to purr

Oh my goodness, that first video is just tooooo precious! I think it's amazing that animals will just adopt a baby from another species with no problem, I've heard a ton of stories about it. I think my favorite was when there was a shelter or someone doing a pet drive and they happened to find...

    Fourth of July and Anxiety

HAHAHA! :D We actually don't have basements up here (and we're in an upstairs apartment, so that doesn't help the problem, lol.) I thought about moving his bed into a closet or the hallway, with no outside walls, but I think that would just freak him out even more. He might just have to...

ifetch doxie plays fetch without human lol

Oh man, Watson needs one of those. He drives us NUTS when he wants to play fetch but we're busy.

    Fourth of July and Anxiety

Watson hates loud noises, including thunder and fireworks. This is a big problem, because we live about 2 blocks away from the UNT stadium where they do a huge fireworks show for the 4th. Now, I don't have the $40 to shell out for a thundershirt, but I've seen some other calming products at...

    DFW, TX Doxies?

Yeah, Watson and I go to the dog park every now and then. Can't as much now that it's summer cause it's just too hot. But I've heard about doxie clubs and get togethers in different towns and thought it sounded like fun, but the only group down here is AKC only :( He's played with other...

    my puppy has diarrhea

Then it definitely sounds like it's just from the food switch. It won't be too long before her tummy is back to normal.

    my puppy has diarrhea

It's probably from switching her food. Usually when you switch, you want to ease them into it. If that's the problem, it will go away soon, once her little tummy gets used to it. However, if it looks like there's blood in it, you might want to get it checked out.

    My girl is 13.5...

How cute!! I love her grey old lady face. It's good she still runs and plays, that will definitely help her lifespan! My beagle back home is going to be 13 in the fall (estimated, she was a rescue) and while she doesn't play like she used to, she can usually still get in a lap or two around the...

    DFW, TX Doxies?

I think I've seen a few members who listed their location in DFW, but I can't remember usernames. I was thinking maybe we could have a playdate some time. The only DFW dachshund group I can find via the Googler is an AKC-only group, which sucks cause I'd love to have a little doxie club, but...

    Insect Stings?

Great! Well, I mean, not great that he got stung, but great that it doesn't require a trip to the vet. Thank you!! It's actually funny that I'm worrying so much...my beagle (parent's beagle) has been bitten by copperheads like 5 times, and I know that doesn't hurt them (sick for about 24 hrs...

    Look what I found!! :D

How funny! I stepped on all of Watson's and wondered what the hell had just poked me in the foot. I have a friend with a shepherd mix though, who would actually bring my friend all of her teeth, like "Here Mom lookit!"
