    First puppy walk!

LOL too cute! My silver dapple is 17.5 years old...people still try to tell me he's some other kind of color. After 17.5 years, I think I know what color he is...but to each their own.

    Puppy Meltdown. Just a Stage?

I think everyone goes thru an adjustment period when bringing a new pup home. So hang in there. Yes, they do sleep a lot. My husband didn't believe that the dogs would sleep all day, so he put cameras in our house (so he could watch them from work)...guess what! He found out they sleep all...

I have a big dog! Is it okay to adopt a miniature dachshund?

I have 150lb newfoundland, 120lb newfoundland and 75lb lab and my weiner dog is only 5.5 lb. As long as you keep a close eye on your small pups, you should be okay. I wouldn't leave them alone until you are completely sure that it is safe. But I must say that my wiener dog (17 years old)...

    Our Alf has diarrhea

I normally pull food for 12-24 hours. Then gradually start back with rice, or a low residue food (Iams has a good one)...then back to regular food. But I always give water, so they don't dehydrate. If it continues for more than 24-48 hours, I would definitely take to vet (especially if the...

    Does your dachies "purr"?

Mine doesn't purr. But he does moan and groan.... I'm guessing it's because he has gotten older (almost 17 yrs)...arthirtis. He also sighs... kinda like my Grandmother did before she passed away.

    Yukon Chorus (Oh, Lonesome Me)

OMG! That is hilarious! I love it! As I played it, my newfs decided to "woof"! My dachshund is upstairs with my hubby...so he didn't hear it.

    Back Issues

Yes, my Buddy was totally paralyzed from the chest down. We did the surgery and within 3 months he started coming around. When all was said and done, I would say that he was 90% back to normal. It took a lot of therapy on our part, but it worked! Blazer has had a few "moments" of back...
