    Collar or harness?

If I understand correctly we are talking about something like this; "We do not recommend using any of these collars when training your dog and the RSPCA see the use of these as cruelty. Studies show that using aversive techniques (ones that cause pain or alarm) when training your dog...

    Best dog food

A lot of dogs will "bolt" chicken wings without chewing because they are so small. For dogs that are not used to a raw diet they are probably not the best things to start with. When introducing raw chicken on the bone I usually start with a whole leg, its too big for them to swallow so its a...

    Collar or harness?

Personally I only use a collar and lead. As I have three, I walk two on a split lead and one on a single. They also get at least one "off leash" walk a day. Both collars and harnesses can cause back problems if the dog pulls so the best answer is to train your dog to walk properly and not to...

    Collar or harness?

What are "micro prong" collars? I haven't heard of these in the UK.

    Best dog food

I feed mostly raw and my new pup has had it from 8 weeks. You do need to be a bit careful about the meat to bone ratio for e.g chicken wings are a great treat but have a high bone to meat ratio so don't feed too many. I like to give mine larger portions that they have to chew properly to stop...

    Hill's B/D

I don't know anything about this brand (am in UK) but my advice would be to feed as natural as you can. I do worry about all the additives, colourings and junk in some of the so called special brands and I am not a fan of dried dog food either. I feed only raw meats, fish, vegetables and brown...

    Going nowhere with potty training

The key to toilet training is all about patience and habit. Every time your pup messes inside is a big step backwards. Trust me this can be done in just a few days but you will need to dedicate that time 100% to your puppy. Choose a time when you will be around all the time, for as long as it...

    PRA Cord 1 & Laforas

Yes these are the results from the testing in Canada so far, rather a high percentage of carriers! I hope to have my wire girl tested for Lafora later this year so fingers crossed. She is already tested clear for the PRA Cord 1 so at least I know she is OK for that.
