Hallie the longhaired dachshund went blind suddenly to SARDs in 2011. She hasn't let her blindness slow her down. She loves to paint and sells her art on her web site at Hallie Art Dachshund Painter with proceeds going to Purple Heart Rescue. She is a rescue dog herself, having been dumped at an animal shelter during the night when she was about 10 months old. So this is something she can do to give back. She also participates in K9 Nosework where she can hold her own with the sighted dogs. These 2 things have given this inspiring little dog a new lease on life.
