Suffolk County, NY - The wheels of change for animal rights are often slow, but as long as they are moving in a forward motion, there is reason for hope. Law-makers in Suffolk County took bold action this week - action that hopefully will inspire other counties and cities across the nation to make similar changes.On Tuesday, the county unanimously voted to create the nation's first animal abuse registry requiring people convicted of cruelty to animals to register or face jail time and fines.
